Connie + Jeff Whimsical Engagement at Leo Carrillo State Park, Malibu, Ca

Jeff and Connie’s engagement session at Leo Carrillo State Park is the dreamiest, I am over the moon!!

These two had a tough morning the day of the shoot, having their car unexpectedly towed (Starbucks and no parking zones happen!) meant we were starting our shoot much later than anticipated. I admit, I was worried! We had a lot planned and were losing the light quickly!

What I absolutely loved though, is that despite the tough morning, Connie and Jeff kept it all so lighthearted and fun. They truly glowed – their love and joy was a pleasure to document!

We stayed until the very last drop of sunshine – and enjoyed twilight under the full moon. It was a beautiful romantic evening – and I am once again overwhelmed by the feeling of gratitude. I’m so lucky to work with such sweet and kind souls. I can’t wait for their wedding next year!

Get to know them below…

What is your proposal story?

Jeff had been secretly preparing the proposal for months prior without my knowledge. On the day of the proposal, it was 2019 labor day weekend and he decided to take us and the 2 dogs up to Tahoe where rented a cabin for us to spend the weekend at. At sunset, he took me and the doggies to a dog friendly beach to where he had a little open faced tee-pee set up and inside was dried rose petals in the shape of a heart with the question marry me inside. Our friend popped out of nowhere from the bushes to help capture the moment, and little did I know the rest of our friends were back at the cabin decorating and setting up a surprise celebration party at the same time!

Why did you choose your engagement location and what do you love about it?

I wanted something versatile that offers more than 1 type of terrain. I love that it offers both beach / meadow-y vibes.

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their engagement session?

Be organized, thorough, and mindful of deadlines.

What is your favorite thing about being engaged?

Having the satisfaction and security of knowing that we’re taking official steps to really committing to each other for the rest of our lives.

Congrats on your engagement Connie & Jeff!!
