Breanna + Sam | Intimate Lake House, Memphis, TN | Wedding

I’m so excited to share Breanna and Sam’s wedding on the blog today; this wedding, in so many ways, filled my heart with joy!! Penny, thank you and your entire family for having us. We truly enjoyed every minute of it. <3 & Congrats Breanna and Sam, wishing you all the best!!

Some of my favorite moments –

We arrived a day early to explore the venue with Breanna, she warned us about the rain and we indeed had a chance to experience it! In fact, Breanna was driving us around in the “Gator” (utility vehicle) when the downpour began, we watched rain drops race across the lake toward us. She parked us under a tree for cover and the scene was actually very beautiful. Once the rain stopped, I got the chance to drive the “Gator” as we explored the rest of the property – it was so much fun!

Breanna and her bridesmaids helped each other get ready; they did each other’s make up, hair and nails. Claudia (second shooter) stepped up to help as well when Breanna (unfortunately) had a makeup mishap – yay teamwork! Watching the morning unfold was truly special, everyone was so very relaxed and enjoying every moment.

We carpooled with the bridal party to the venue, which, I have not mentioned – is a private property that belongs to the groom’s best man’s family.

Phillip (Breanna and Sam’s son) helped get Sam ready!

Breanna and the bridesmaids didn’t wear any shoes – barefoot beauties. 🙂

Phillip hung out by his parents as they wed. He was also in Sam’s arms as they walked down the aisle as all three got showered in rose petals!

We used an old family boat and lined it with the bridesmaid’s flowers for some romantic photos of just Breanna and Sam…

I experienced two new things that I’ll never forget – 1. Pollen started falling from the sky just like snow during our romantic session with Breanna and Sam. 2. Sam dug up a bourbon bottle he had buried nearby, a southern tradition that I’ve been meaning to research!

We had planned on a final photo “under the stars” and well, we were missing the stars… so yes, yes I did add a few in my final edit just because. <3

A few words from the bride below…

Share your inspiration and the atmosphere you’re creating for your wedding.

I want everyone to have a good time and really enjoy themselves.

Share how (or why) you chose your wedding venue(s).

Sam said if we have a backyard wedding we can go to Hawai’i for our honeymoon 😉
And the property is Gorgeous!

Are there any special songs to be played for the processional, recessional, or first dances that have special meaning?

Home by Phillip Phillips is our song
Wonderful world (father/daughter dance) my parent’s song

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples?

Always listen to one another, be mindful of their needs and wants, and always remember the order in your house is God, your marriage, your kids.

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

The final stretch. It’s all come together and now we can just sit back and wait to be husband and wife.

XO,

V
