Mayra + Adrian | Camarillo Ranch House, Camarillo, Ca | Wedding

As seen on Artfully Wed!

Oh my goodness, where do I even start with this wedding day?? The first time I met Mayra, she told me that her wedding day was inspired by “The Secret Garden” – naturally, I made it my homework to watch the movie and right away, I knew we were in for a treat. Her love of children, nature and family were evident on her wedding day. Her and Adrian had such a playful and romantic relationship; we had a great time capturing their day and wish them all the best!!

Rustic Charm meets the Secret Garden

Share your inspiration and the atmosphere you’re creating for your wedding.

We are not big fans of formal events so we want our wedding to be more organic and feel like a family reunion and celebration of life more than anything. For me (The Bride) I took a lot of inspiration from the book ‘The Secret Garden’ which was a favorite growing up.

Share how (or why) you chose your wedding venue(s).

While attending a Food Truck Festival at our venue location we decided that the atmosphere and esthetics was just what we were looking for- The Camarillo Ranch house is both Rustic and Romantic which fits in perfectly with the feel/theme we want for our wedding. We both always envisioned being married outdoors, and also like the convenience of having the Ceremony, Photography, and Reception in the same Venue to save on travel time.

Are there any special songs to be played for the processional, recessional, or first dances that have special meaning?

We never really had a “song” so all the music we chose are songs that resonated with our feelings for each other. The song that I will be walking down the aisle too was chosen by the groom and its called “Eres tu” by Carla Morisson.

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples?

Do not stress out if your wedding isn’t exactly turning out to look like your Pintrest wall! The closer it gets to the big day you realize that what you truly desire is what comes after the party-the life you will create as husband and wife.

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

Putting together all the ideas I had in my head since I was 5 years old day dreaming of my wedding as well as attending all those wedding expos with free booze and grab bags.

Thanks again for having us!!
