One of my favorite parts about being a wedding photographer is getting to meet new couples, and getting to see them flourish as they find their comfort zone in front of the camera!! Nicole and Billy were such a pleasure to work with, and it was wonderful seeing them be themselves. Every silly, sweet, romantic and joyful moment was so fun to capture. The green hills, woodsy areas, textured rocks and calm waves at Laguna Beach were the perfect way to tell their love story, see more below!

Why did you choose your engagement session location?

We both love the outdoors, enjoy going to the beach and hiking, so beach & a woody area makes most sense.

Nicole, what do you love about Billy?

He’s a very caring and thoughtful person. He is always willing to help out (even though sometimes I have to ask him to, but at least he does not complain!). He always listens and makes me feel better when I am having a bad day.

Billy, what do you love about Nicole?

She can be the most loving person in the world, as well as the funniest. Her spontaneity and can light up the room in an instant. She can be caring when needed, as well as bring a smile to my face whenever necessary.

What is your proposal story?

Billy spent a number of weeks planning. He found a cute picnic company that sets up in different areas in OC. He had the mother, brother, and his girlfriend also in on the surprise. They led her to believe that she was going to have afternoon tea. Turns out he was there then he popped the question.

What is your favorite thing about being engaged?

Having sense of support and stability knowing you have someone to lean on and come to for anything. And the ring’s not bad either 🙂

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their engagement session?

Be playful and just have fun. Also trust your photographer. Vanessa helped us feel comfortable throughout the whole engagement session and we appreciated that.
