Lois + Ryo | Dreamy Engagement Session at Malaga Cove | Palos Verdes, CA

I’m so thrilled to share Lois and Ryo’s dreamy engagement session at Malaga Cove in Palos Verdes. These two are so amazing, they really had me smiling the entire time!! Their love for each other, and their fur baby Daisy was wonderful to witness and to capture. I cannot wait to document their wedding day at Carmel Mountain Ranch Estate!! Read on to learn more about them and their beautiful love story!!

How did you meet?

We met at work! Lois started at the City of San Diego on March 17, 2014 and Ryo was one of the first people her boss introduced her to (there wasn’t a lot of other people that started work at 7 in the morning). We started off as coworkers eating lunch in the break room together and it took Ryo over a year to ask Lois out to hang out outside of work and Lois found out later it was a date! Since then, we’ve been together for 6 years (1 year break in between but came back stronger than ever!) and we’re excited to get married!

Tell me more! What is your favorite activity to do together? Where is your favorite place to go with each other? Do you have a favorite restaurant?

Sleep. We like to eat out and explore new restaurants. We like to hike and travel and do new activities. Our favorite places to go with each other are picnics, movie theaters, and home. For restaurants, we like excellent-quality sushi, seafood, pizza, and steaks!

What is your proposal story?

We had a date on New Years Eve where we started out with a picnic at Bayview Park in Coronado. The food for the picnic was Din Tai Fung since this was one of the first place we went together in Orange County. The park that we went to had the view of downtown, and downtown is a special place for us because we met there. After we ate we sat down a little and then Ryo got his tripod ready to take some photos. While we were taking some photos Ryo changed it from photos to video and ask Lois for her hand in marriage. After Lois said yes we took a few more photos and drove over to downtown where we walked the same path as our first time hanging out together (from the Convention Center to where we worked previously). Afterwards we went to Extraordinary Desserts and got a take out of steak for dinner. When we got home our roommates and landlords surprised us with decorations and congratulated us on our engagement.

What is your favorite thing about being engaged?

Ryo – that we get to almost be married.
Lois – saying I have a fiance! The ring ;). Planning for the next chapter of our lives together!

Lois – What do you love most about Ryo?

I like his genuine laughter – it just shows pure joy! He gets along with everyone and never judges me.

Ryo – What do you love most about Lois?

She is a very caring person. Whenever someone is in trouble/sad she always makes time to try to help them no matter how much time it may take her.

Congrats Lois & Ryo, I can’t wait to capture your wedding day!!

XO,

V
