Monica + Sean | Altadena Town & Country Club, Altadena, Ca | Wedding

I am so excited to share Monica and Sean’s wedding on the blog today~ these lovebirds had not one, but two beautiful ceremonies!! It was my first time documenting a Persian ceremony and I just really loved and appreciated all of the customs.

Congrats Monica + Sean, we loved being your wedding photographers!!

From the bride…

Wedding Colors: Blush, Champagne, Ivory

Three words to best describe your day: Romantic, Floral, Elegant

Share your inspiration and the atmosphere you’re creating for your wedding.

My middle name is Rosa, so I have always loved roses and the color pink. I’m also a lover of anything romantic: songs, movies, etc. I looked up so many wedding decor ideas on Pinterest and I realized that I kept pinning images with lots of greenery, lace, blush and champagne colors so I used these images to help me find a venue that would complement the vision that I had.
I want our guests to feel that they are at an elegant and romantic wedding with an outdoor/garden vibe.

Share how (or why) you chose your wedding venue(s).

I love gardens, greenery and places that are a little vintage. The moment I drove up to this venue for my appointment, I knew that this place was perfect! I love the warm and welcoming vibe that the venue conveys. I love the gardens, the large trees and I absolutely loved the huge window with the stunning view in our reception hall. I wanted a venue with hardwood floors, lots of flowers and greenery and a welcoming/romantic vibe, and I feel I found all of this at the Altadena Town and Country Club.

Are there any special songs to be played for the processional, recessional, or first dances that have special meaning?

The song for my father/daughter dance is “Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder. According to my dad, when he got in his car to head home from the hospital right after I was born, this was the very first song he heard on the radio.

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

I have been planning this wedding since I got engaged in March 2016. It has been so interesting to see how my taste, decor, and overall vision has changed overtime. I went from wanting lots of crystals, rhinestones and a white dance floor to having lots of florals, eucalyptus leaves and a hardwood dance floor.
It has been so fun to work with various vendors to bring my visions to life and a lot of times, things have turned out so much better than I could have imagined.
I absolutely LOVED going wedding dress shopping with my mom and sister and crying when I found my dream wedding dress.
I have always been very focused on earning my college degrees and establishing my career. I have loved school and learning ever since I was a kid and I wasn’t one of those girls who grew up imagining the day they got married; I always looked forward to the day I would graduate from college. Thus, I have truly enjoyed this unique and exciting experience and it has been such a fun journey.

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples?

In terms of the wedding planning process, I would advise couples to start the process as soon as possible and review the work of your potential vendors to ensure you like their style. Have fun and enjoy this time together; it goes by quickly! 🙂
